Proper Way to Wear Knee Highs

Lauren's class at Comm Central was instructed to bring a toy horse to school since they are beginning to study the Ancient Greeks and Romans. She wore a horse shirt and knee highs that matched in this manner......

I tried to tell her that the socks go below her knee- she matter of factly stated-"but they are knee highs- they go to the high part of my knee"- I had no reply.

Here is a pic with Cliff and Lauren

and a later pic in the day of Lauren wearing the candy corn bishop I made her- she is in front of beauty berries- bet Grandma Jean knew that already

Busy Saturday

Cliff decided to go to Fayettville to Bikes, blues and bbq- so Lauren and I decided to have a girl's day. First thing- we painted the outside front entry concrete a barn red shade then went off to take our flu vaccines we had scheduled- flu mist not shots!!!!

After doing so well at dr's office- we went to Park Plaza Mall and and ate rainbow dippin' dots

After the dippin' dots- we visited the makeup counter in Dillards to let Lauren sample Mariah Carey's Lucious Pink fragrance. We met a lady named Sarah who gave Lauren a pink butterfly bag and a small butterfly bottle of the perfume- Lauren was thrilled.

On the way home stopped by Horticare Nursey -formerly Birnham Wood (P. Allen Smith owned in the 90's and taught classes here- and yes- I was a student every Saturday ). Biggest thrill at the nursery was meeting Tiger- a gorgeous, fluffy orange cat-we will be visiting him often!!!

Spelling test Friday

Okay- our spelling program generally has 12 words each week- this week- 28- a review week of sorts. I was apprehensive giving Lauren her test today- she missed 1 out of the 28- said (she spelled it "seid". good job - Lauren.

After finishing the rest of our studies- we went into town- mommy to gym- Lauren to child care. This works out well for us- she loves to play with the other children in the small environment provided.

Afterwards we browsed garden ridge looking at the holiday displays and especially enjoyed the halloween creepy section- big hit for her. You can see the mummy cat and her friend Elizabeth in the photo. The very annoying cat sings and dances- I have heard the tune 50 times in the last 2 hours......but she loves it.
